Kurenai ｢紅炎衆, kurenai, lit. "Crimson Flame Group"｣ is the personal guard of Benimaru led by Gobwa. It is a 300-man unit of Ogres born from the strongest of the 4100 Hobgoblins living in Tempest. The most powerful among them were originally from the first Goblin village Rimuru saved. They are now Benimaru's personal bodyguards, possessing A-Rank strength. Each of the captains of Kurenai have endured Hakurou's hellish training, making them a very dependable force. After Benimaru's evolution to a Divine Oni, several members, including Gobwa, have evolved into Kijin.
Ahead of the Nasca Namrium Ulmeria United Eastern Empire's invasion of the Great Jura Forest, they joined the Red Numbers in the Fourth Corps under the command of Benimaru. Members of Kurenai were selected to be captains to the assorted majin in the Red Numbers. [1]
